So wurde der Grundstein des Erfolgs bereits im Jahre 1896 durch den lokalen Hotelpionier Franz Hess-Michel gelegt, welcher ein erstes Anwesen f\u00fcr G\u00e4ste mit zwei Stockwerken und auf drei Achsen erbauen liess. Im Laufe der Zeit erfolgten mehrere Erweiterungsbauten und Aufstockungen und seit 1956 tr\u00e4gt das Hotel seinen heutigen Namen: Paxmontana. sich direkt im Herzen der Schweiz. Nur unweit der Gemeinde, auf der 1&#8217;650 Meter \u00fcber dem Meer hohen \u00c4lggialp liegt der geografische Mittelpunkt des Landes. Das kleine Dorf selbst ist in vielerlei Hinsicht \u00fcberaus sehenswert und findet als Wallfahrtsort bis in unsere Tage viele Liebhaber.
